Black Med is an ongoing platform initiated by Invernomuto since 2018. The Mediterranean Sea, once understood as a fluid entity conducive to the formation of networks and exchanges, is now the scene of a humanitarian crisis and a heated geopolitical dispute. Black Med aims to intercept the trajectories that sounds trace as they pass through this protean area, as migration routes leave sound trails that, in the words of Iain Chambers, “resist representation and propose an affective economy [that is] inherently diasporic.”
At the heart of the project is an algorithm capable of playing with tracks and transmitting an infinite stream. The archive is composed of music and sounds selected by Invernomuto and a network of collaborators who have been invited at different stages since the beginning of the project. In addition, the system is open and anyone can upload new sounds to it: the goal is to have a growing archive, a Black Med magma, constantly evolving.

RAM radioartemobile & MPDS recorded 4 blocks of musical flow, respecting the main characteristic of this project: randomness of the succession of tracks, the idea of infinite flow precisely, and the play of randomness and algorithm.
